THERESA'S STORY

In 2000, I met Stu Webb, the founder of Collaborative Law at the annual conference of the International Alliance of Holistic Lawyers. The next year, I contacted him because my own marriage was faltering. My then-husband and I hired mediator-lawyers to end our marriage respectfully with love. Ours was the first Collaborative Divorce proved up in Illinois in July of 2002.

Shortly after that, the first Collaborative training took place in Illinois.  I attended and, following my mediation training the next spring, committed myself to helping other families transition with Love, Peace and Dignity.

My approach to mediation and Collaborative Process is to educate and empower my clients so they can negotiate agreements that allow them to build healthy new lives, prosper financially and co-parent children effectively.

Having seen how conscious pre-nuptial (and post-nuptial) agreements can help couples navigate changing circumstances, I enjoy providing neutral space for partners to have difficult conversations – conversations that can then provide a foundation for future success.
