Do I have to wait for a court date and go to court?
In Cook County, it depends upon the judge assigned to the case as to whether or not you have to go to court for prove-up, or the final court date for a divorce in which a judge confirms that all legal requirements have been met.
Do I have to take a parenting class?
In Illinois, divorcing parents with minor children are required to take a parenting education class.

What are the court costs associated with filing for divorce?
For both a Dissolution With Children and a Dissolution Without Children, court costs are $388. Court Appearance costs are $250.
